Sooo Many People!!!

Did I mention that I had met an incredible amount of people earlier? Well nothing topped tonight. ESN (the international student group at the university) hosted a party at a cafe in Oslo and close to 100 international students attended. I met SO many people from SO many places. I remember a lot of faces, but not a lot of names. 2 from India, 2 from Switzerland, a number of Germans, 2 Spanish, a few Americans, 2 from Holland, a couple Canadians, 2 from Pakistan, a couple French, and the list goes on.... It was like every minute there was someone new to talk to! All the same questions of course..what's your name? where are you from? what are you studying? how long have you been in Oslo? It's just incredible that when you are put in a situation like this it is so easily to be friendly with others. Perhaps this is the solution to world peace-a tiny room filled with 100 people from different countries and stocked bar (keep the Spanish away from the bar).

  1. Allison! My name is Leslie, Mrs. Beaton's daughter. You don't know me, and I don't mean to be creepy, but my mom has told me (through your dad) a little bit about your trip. I went to Dublin, Ireland by myself during the Spring semester of 2011, so I really really understand what you're going through right now. I kept a blog over the course of my semester abroad that might be some consolation to you as you go through this AMAZING experience. I would love to email you to tell you a little bit about my trip and to hear more about yours! Email me if you'd like at beat8559@fredonia.edu and you can check out my blog at irishbeaton.tumblr.com.
